Dr. Popham’s Top Three Tips for an Easy Recovery from Blepharoplasty and Other Eyelid Surgery
Considering Blepharoplasty or any other eyelid surgery but worried about the recovery? Here are Dr. Popham’s top three tips for an easy recovery.
ICE ICE BABY! Keep the surgical site iced and cold for the few days after your surgery. 15 minutes of ice every hour will keep the swelling down and speed up your recovery. Bonus tip: Use a bag of frozen peas instead of ice. Peas stay frozen longer than ice chips and are more comfortable around your eyes than ice. Because Dr. Popham has perfected the use of carbon dioxide laser technology to reduce operative bleeding, you’re already miles ahead of the rest for post-operative recovery.
Keep Calm and Rest On. While you will be totally functional after your eyelid surgery, don’t be too active too quickly. You’ll be able to read, watch movies, and even take walks, but too much activity can cause bleeding which slows down your healing process. Avoid lifting and strenuous activities and take a few days to chill, relax, and take it easy. In today’s fast pace world, doesn’t that sound inviting?
